Areas of lawn, pretty rockeries and shrub borders, surround the house on all sides, designed to enhance year-round enjoyment for all the family.
There are generous areas of lawn available for children's play, with some garden toys, such as this 2 child jump ball provided for use.
Swingball is also available
View of the lawn and rockeries , looking south-west from the dining room, also a good position from which to observe children's play
The relatively mild coastal climate means that the Fuchsias and Hydrangeas are usually still colourful into November
An area in front of the house, between the property and the sea, has been planted with mainly low growing conifers and heathers, which contribute to all year round colour and interest.
Step outside the lounge door, and across a bridge gives access to further areas of lawn and an in-ground trampoline that will delight the children
The wide sloping path from the carpark to the upper garden level and trampoline area and via bridge to the house, provides the advantage of access to the first floor rooms via a slope, rather than stairs or steps, which some guests may find useful.
Deer are frequent visitors to our garden. Sometimes they are fearless as on this occasion (However this photo is not from our garden, but one we took on a trip to Jura). Sometimes guests have commented on the delight of having a deer stroll by, while eating breakfast on the patio! More often they come at night and surreptiously nibble the plants. However you are very likely to see them at some point. Meanwhile the garden is filled with a lot of plants chosen as ones the deer find less tasty!
Red squirrels are sometimes observed in the garden
